Brothers’ Active and Creative Playroom — Residential | Canberra

This playroom is organised into two clear halves: an active-play zone for climbing and movement, and a creative zone for art, construction and focused play. The active wall combines adjustable climbing holds, pipe climbers, overhead monkey bars and a Swedish ladder to create several routes across and around the space. Gym rings and a hammock swing add further movement options, while the large floor mat provides a defined landing area.

The opposite wall forms a long Maker Space using modular storage, a continuous work surface, pegboards, magnetic panels and accessible supply containers. A central gallery displays the boys’ artwork, while open ledges keep books and current materials visible. Colour blocking and a flowing wall mural connect the two zones, using blue, green and muted yellow to give each activity a clear place within the room.
